As I was laying on my deathbed, I scream and I cry, “GIVE MY MOTHER THE MESSAGE BEFORE I DIE!” I was ill and as much as they hid it from me I knew, I had 64 seconds.
So here I proceed, for the last minute of my life, This is the message I want my mother to know The last words of recognition before I go.
Oh, mother how I loved you so And William and Roy, and all the sweet sounds of Freeport, Illinois. And I wish I could come back and I know you were sad, when I left you to go off to this place of nightmares.
But I had to help my people, I had to do what’s right. Goodbye mother, it’s time for me to go, so here we proceed, To the end of the last 64 seconds of my life.
The Message to Leo Barnds
The message I received tonight gives me such a gut wrenching feeling in my right. I cry and scream I lay on the ground, asking God why he would ever take him from me.
He had two brothers, William and Roy And I loved him so much and wanted the best for my son So I gave him a life, he gave himself a life in Freeport, Illinois.
He was an intelligent man, bright and all. He went to school, got a good education and job. He grew up in the blink of an eye and before I knew it, before he knew it, he was off to die.
So Leo, I guess this is goodbye I am proud of you Even though I’m here shaking on the ground, I will love you to the last second before you close your eyes and rise into the hands of someone better and leave that horror of a place called war.
